Holidays and screensavers make a great combination. Holidays are important because they change our mood. The most busy and depressed of us become happy and energetic during holidays. Watch the faces during Christmas, Halloween, thanksgiving and other holidays. You will find a distinct glow and smile. The hearts are full of love and giving. The anxieties and envies are forgotten for a day.

Holiday screensavers designed for specific holidays add to this mood by providing us the visuals. Please remember that most of us are visual persons. Words don't affect them much, but a visual does. A drawing of Santa makes more difference to visual people than a paragraph about Christmas. For such visual persons, Holidays screensavers are a great boon.

Today, on a very good website, you get free holidays screensavers. Download as many as you wish. Holidays or no holidays, watch them any time and any day and you will feel a change in your mood. The holidays screensavers are normally made for holidays such as- 4th July, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Hanukkah, Happy Holidays, Memorial Day, New Year, Patriot Day, Rosh Hashanah, St. Patrick's Day, Thanksgiving, Valentines Day etc.

Download screensavers that are good looking, have bright colors, with low file weight, easy to install and uninstall, with music and good to look at. Download free holiday screensavers and enjoy a holiday everyday on your computer desktop.

Internet has got many websites offering Romantic ecards. Which to chose and how? At the outset, let me tell you to avoid all paid websites. Also avoid very old websites as the ecard designs might have become stale. Chose a recently launched website offering free romantic ecards free.

Now let us discuss about expression. On a good ecard website, you will get cards divided in many topics such as Love Notes Ecards , Be Mine Forever Ecards , Let Me Love You Ecards. There will be many such subjects. Which topic to chose for ecard selection? Let us find out.

If you are in the initial phase of romance, go for topics such as - Love Notes, Crazy In love and I Love You Ecards. After some time, when your romance has grown up a little and attained maturity, start sending ecards from sections such as Be Mine Forever and Let Me Love You Ecards. You will find a distinct difference in text of these ecards and that is important to express your feelings. Ofcourse you can always use I Miss You ecards whenever you long for your sweetheart.

For young dating couples that are still experiencing the passion and all-encompassing rush of new love, Valentine's Day can hold great importance. Impressing someone with elaborate gifts can be one way of telling the person that you are dating that you think they are special, and that you have great hopes for the relationship. Valentine's Day gifts in this stage of a relationship can tell people a lot about each other, and can be a good indicator of where the relationship may be headed.

What about people who have been married for a while?

For married couples Valentine's Day isn't less important…just different and, in many ways, better. It is a time to celebrate love and reminisce about all the Valentine's Days that you have spent together. Gifts given on Valentine's Day to a spouse can have much more significance, because you should know your spouse well enough to give something that has special meaning. A diamond anniversary band or three stone ring given to a wife tells her that you are glad that you married her and that you value your life together. A gold watch given to a husband tells him that you appreciate him and want him to have the very best.

Married couples don't have to give elaborate gifts on Valentine's Day; a meaningful gift that says you care or a sweet gesture of love are just as special. When you are married, the thought that is put into the gift is the important factor. A jewelry gift that says "I know you, and I know what makes you happy" goes a long way toward making someone feel that they are special and valued. If your wife likes heart shapes then giving her a diamond heart pendant or bracelet with heart-shaped charms can mean much more to her than simply handing her a gold chain. It shows that you know what she likes, you listen to her, that you put thought into the gift. Jewelry that celebrates each other's individuality as well as the life that you have made together can be priceless, no matter what the actual cost.

Giving your spouse something they have been considering buying for a while is a good way to show your love. To come up with an original Valentine's Day gift think about what is important to your spouse; what makes him or her happy. Does your husband love to golf? Give him a gift certificate for a round of golf at his favorite course. Does your wife love classical music? Tickets for a night out to see the symphony let's you plan a second night to spend together. A gift of jewelry is a lasting reminder of this Valentine's Day and your relationship – and jewelry is always appreciated. And don't forget about giving flowers – they may seem traditional but flowers brighten a winter day and are romantic. One of the reasons that successful marriages stay that way is because the spouses try never to take each other for granted, and the right gift on Valentine's Day can go a long way in proving your commitment to that ideal.

Twig Wreaths For Rustic Or Elegant Appeal

Posted by Izzy Roose | 2:26 AM | 0 comments »

The thought of twigs may conjure up an old forest, or well-constructed bird's nest. Twigs are also an extremely popular material for wreaths. A wreath can be made entirely of twigs for a rustic, primitive appeal or can have all sorts of materials added to them for a graceful design. They can also accent a wreath for any season of the year whether its Thanksgiving or Valentine's Day.

The charm of twig wreaths stems from their raw, natural beauty. The trend for wreaths made completely from intertwined twigs has boomed. Twigs are naturally bendable and therefore were probably some of the first materials used to make wreaths. Many twigs are naturally highlighted with beautiful berries. Allowing the twigs to stick out away from the wreath in a fan, or swirl shape, makes a wonderful statement in a kitchen or living room, or for a door. Some twigs encompass an entire color all on their own. Bayberry twigs are thin with a slightly blueish-brown color and red dogwood is a beautiful burnt red. Twig wreaths made just with these basic, yet striking materials, will catch any eye.

Twigs are also extremely popular as bases and accents for wreaths. A swirled, red dogwood, twig wreath can be accented with dried herbs or flowers. The addition of fake birds, bumble bees and dragon flies onto a twig base can really bring nature inside. Imagine birch tree twigs fanned out whimsically with accents of leaves from the peak of fall, or a pussy willow wreath with a few, delicate faux butterflies.

Mt. birch wreaths make fantastic bases. They have a dense core, then fan out wildly in a scattered pattern. Leaves, berries, ribbons, or even bulb ornaments will make a tasteful addition to this base. The briar patch wreath also has a wonderfully natural and random effect. These absolutely call to mind a bird's nest. Add faux birds and bird eggs with a few leaves, dried herbs and berries for a rustic appeal.

Twig wreaths can also be graceful and elegant. Matching the pattern of the swirling twigs, greens with daisies or roses can add brilliance to any room. Dried flowers of all shades and shapes also add an exquisite motif to the twig base.

Dawn Keadic enjoys decorating with wreaths, both indoors and outdoors. For more information on wreaths, including wreaths you can make at home, visit Wreath Marking.

Valentines Day Is For Married Couples Too

Posted by Izzy Roose | 2:26 AM | 0 comments »

Who says that married couples can't enjoy Valentine's Day? If you would like to make this day a little more special than others have been in the past, you'll need to think about a few things, make a few plans and make this day a great day.

Keep It Exciting!

Use all of the tools that you have to remind yourself of the day. Set up your palm pilot or your computer to remind you of the day. And, not just on that day but several weeks before. This way, you can easily remember to do something for the day.

* Make dinner reservations.

* Buy a new outfit for the day.

* Plan what you will be serving for dinner.

* Find a way to get the kids out of the house for a few hours.

* Head out on the town for several hours.

* Plan out your meal for the night and test new recipes before then.

One of the biggest problems for the evening is with the kids. Where can they go or do? Find a sitter for them so that you two will have time on your own. Make sure to leave them someplace that they will enjoy themselves so that you don't have to worry about them all evening. And, doing this will allow you to spend better quality time with your loved one too.

Gifts should be purchased well in advance. First of all, more and more individuals are turning to the internet to purchase gifts. If this is your plan, do it well in advance of the day, as it may take several weeks to receive a package. If you plan to purchase something, make sure that you know the tastes of the individual and their size. If you visit local department stores, they may even wrap them up for you on this day.

Go For Something Different!

Go ahead and get something more unique this year. For example a singing telegram is sure to surprise her. Surprise her with something like this that you purchase through the local florist.

Making Valentine's Day special is important for each of you to really enjoy the day. Do something different, set aside a block of time and make it mean something to each of you. Then, it will be a day to remember even though you are married.

Nicola Kennedy really enjoys Valentines Day. It's because she and her husband are always thinking of fantastic Valentines Day ideas. Visit her site for more great Valentines ideas to make Valentines 2006 a special one.

So, you're thinking about buying lingerie for the woman (or man) in your life. A well chosen gift of lingerie is one of the most romantic things you can do. It is an intimate gift which can make lady feel sexy and loved. Purchase the right gift of lingerie and odds are you'll be invited to unwrap it later on. Choose the wrong lingerie and you will almost certainly live to regret it. This guide will show you how to choose the right gift of lingerie (the kind of gift that keeps on giving).

First, if you don't know a bustier from a babydoll check out the lingerie glossary at http://www.lingeriediva.com/lingerie_glossary_s/12.htm.

1. The lingerie is NOT for you

Yes, I know you think it's for you. But, if she won't wear it, then it's a gift that neither of you will enjoy. So you need to choose something that she will like. How do you know what she'll like? Just follow steps 2 and 3 below.

2. What's the occasion? Or, not occasion at all!

Are you buying her lingerie for a special occasion - birthday, Christmas, Valentine's Day, anniversary? A silky robe or sexy gown makes a great birthday or Christmas gift. For Valentine's Day or your anniversary try a babydoll, camisole, chemise, or teddy.

Maybe you're buying lingerie in order to to spice things up. Try giving her lingerie for no reason at all and see the reaction! Depending on her disposition you might want to try something in leather or vinyl. You can also play dress up with a sexy costume or corset.

Before you buy, you also need to think about how and where will the lingerie be worn? Is this an item that will be primarily worn in the bedroom, for your eyes only? Will she wear it under her everyday clothes? She might be willing to wear something that's somewhat uncomfortable for a few minutes in the bedroom, but she won't want to wear it all day long.

Don't forget that sexy clothes are a perfect compliment to lingerie. They can be worn to a club or for a night on the town.

3. Lingerie recon mission

This is something most men can handle - a reconnaissance mission. Feel free to wear fatigues if it helps. You're going to recon her underwear draw and closet. What are you looking for? On this mission you are searching for three pieces of intelligence - size, style, and color.

Part A - Size

First, you need to know her sizes. So, start by finding her bras. Look at the label. It probably says something like 34B or 36C. Just so you know, the number part is the size in inches around her chest just below the breasts. The letter portion represents cup size (the size of the breasts - A's are smaller than D's).

Next, try to find a slip, nightgown, or some of her current lingerie. Note the size - it's usually small, medium, large, x-tra large, etc. Check a few different items and choose the size that appears most often.

Part B - Style

Now look through her current lingerie and clothes. What styles does she prefer? If all of her panties are briefs, she might not wear a thong (on the other hand maybe she's just waiting for an excuse). If she's never worn leather or vinyl you might need to introduce these type of items gradually. You can start with just panties or a bra. These are not too extreme and are inexpensive.

Part C - Color

Finally, note the color of her underwear, bras, and lingerie. Who cares about color you ask? Well, she probably does. Some colors might look better on her. Also, if you're planning to buy her something to wear under her everyday clothes, certain colors (like red or black) might show through a sheer blouse. Having said all that, keep in mind that most women won't buy themselves hot red lingerie - this is your job!

4. How much to spend?

Remember, cheap lingerie will make her feel cheap. The good news is that high quality lingerie does not have to be expensive. A basic camisole and panty set usually sells for less than $20. Whatever your budget, you can find something she'll love.

5. Time to choose

Okay, you've gathered your intelligence and are ready to make a decision. You can travel to the mall and go to one of the large lingerie retailers. Or, better yet purchase online.

Well, the dreaded day is almost upon us…

In a few short days, Valentine's Day will arrive. This annual holiday makes most guys cringe.

Either a guy is in a relationship and is forced to buy lavish gifts for his girl. Or he has no woman in his life and this holiday provides an annual reminder that he is alone.

Bottom line is Valentine's Day really sucks for most men.

But there is a way you can make this day become a fun way to meet a woman. In fact, there are a couple of places you can find women and set yourself up with a great night. Below, I have listed three different places you can find a woman for Valentine's Day.

1- Bars or Clubs:

Now I know you might be tired of your local bar or club, but this type of venue is a great place to meet women. On Valentine's Day most bars and clubs sponsor a special night for this holiday. They tend to have giveaways and prizes in the hopes to attract a large gathering of single people.

What you'll usually find at bar or club on Valentine's Day is groups of single women who probably don't have men in their life. Usually these women go out to enjoy themselves on this date and spend time with their friends.

What's interesting about these women is they're not happy that they don't have a man in their life on Valentine's Day. If you play your cards right you can fill this role for the night- perhaps for even longer.

2- Online Dating:

As you've probably noticed, online dating has become a socially acceptable way to meet a woman. If you want date on Valentine's Day the Internet is an excellent place to look.

What you can do is contact a woman on an online dating site and set up a date on this holiday. What's important is to keep the date casual and not go overboard. You should go out for coffee or drink and see if you like each other. You can keep the conversation light and joke about all the guys who get sucked into the craziness of the holiday.

3- Host an Anti-Valentine's Day Party:

One great way to meet a woman on this holiday is to create an Ant-Valentine's Day party with your friends. The key to doing this is to invite a large number of people within your social circle and encourage them to bring every single friend they know.

What's great is this having a party creates a fun atmosphere where it makes it easy to meet women and approach them. Since you're hosting the party, you'll be in the spotlight and will stand out from the crowd.

Valentine's Day can be a frustrating holiday for many guys. But instead of blowing it off and ignoring it, you should try to use this day as an opportunity to meet women.

If you use one of these three places to find women, you'll easily discover it's easy to locate a woman.

Healthy Heart Awareness

Posted by Izzy Roose | 6:26 AM | 0 comments »

Healthy heart awareness is coming up in February. Do you really know if you have a healthy heart? How do we know? We only know after something happens. We always think it can't happen to us.

Having a healthy body gives you a healthy heart. So here are some tips to keep your body healthy.

1. You need to take a really good vitamin. What does that mean? Expensive? No. I mean a vitamin that does dissolve in your body so your body benefits the vitamins in it. I only know of one vitamin that is fructose compounded that benefits our bodies by absorbing 95% of the vitamins, instead of just passing through our bodies.

What is fructose compounding? Fructose is a natural fruit sugar your cells crave and it is easily absorbed in the bloodstream. This process is designed to pre-bind a fructose molecule to a mineral so the mineral won't bind with nutrients in the digestive system. The fructose compounded mineral are designed to be absorbed more easily into the bloodstream and delivered to your cells and thus to your tissues, organs and the rest of your body. Thus making you body healthy.

2. Exercise – You need to keep your body moving. We are suppose to walk at least 10,000 steps a day. The best way to monitor that is to have a walking monitor that can be clipped to your belt or pants. Then keep track of how many steps you take and then if they are aerobic. Which will get you heart pumping. When you get your heart pumping you are getting your body moving and getting your body in better shape all around.

3. Food – We need to eat more vegetables and less processed foods. We need to get back to making dinners instead of using processed foods that are easy and quick. I fall into that category. I'm in the process of retraining myself in making better choices for my family. Life is busy and it's just easier to use pre-made meals. Tip: On Sunday make it family cooking day. Get everyone in the kitchen and make 5 dinners for the week. Put in the freeze when cooled. Then during the week pull out dinner from the freezer and leave in fridge to thaw while at work. It is something to get used to but it makes Sundays very memorable.

These are simple changes but they could save you or someone you love from something very serious. It only takes a few good changes and you can have a better healthier life.

My name is Angie Hembree and I'm with Infinite Possibilities Team. Check out my website at Learn how to receive better, safer, earth healthy products including the vitamins mentioned above while saving 30%-40% off retail.

Valentine candles are a great addition to any Valentine's Day celebration. Not only are they romantic, but they can also really show the special person in your life just how much you care. In fact, many people, women in particular love candles for special occasions. Just think of all the positives they possess. Valentine candles are pretty. They can be bought in just about any color but can be easily found in holiday specific shades. Valentine candles are easy to find and they are available in many aromas that are pleasing to the senses. Finally, Valentine candles are often very personal. You can even make your own candle as a gift for the one you love.

Romantic candles are suited for any occasion where you and your significant other will be spending an evening together. Whether it is a dinner for two or an intimate night at home, romantic candles add to the atmosphere and in some cases, create the atmosphere. Even if you're not a big fan of candles, what would a candlelit dinner be without the candles? Romantic candles create the sensuous mood you desire and provide a soft and subtle lighting meant for those intimate occasions.

Scented romantic candles can also add the perfect touch to a special occasion like Valentine's Day, an anniversary or even a private birthday dinner. These candles are available in all sorts of scents, but you can specifically find them in appropriately romantic aromas such as spicy cinnamon, subtle lavender or even a musky fragrance meant to entice. One doesn't even have to be a candle connoisseur to enjoy the beauty that candles possess or appreciate their role in setting the mood. It all comes down to the selection of the appropriate scent for your event. An overpowering fragrance can be a turn off, but just the right subtle hint of your love's favorite fragrance can be the perfect touch for your special get together.

Romantic candles add to the atmosphere of your night for two. Regardless of your personal preference for candles, just think of how the love of your life will appreciate the soft glow of candlelight. Plus, what is more flattering than candlelight? It accentuates your best features and plays a major role in setting the mood for a night you'll never forget. Don't think about those "country garden" candles you see portrayed in those house and home magazines. Candles have gone beyond the traditional and progressed right into the modern, sophisticated and sexy.

In my 15 years as an educator, poet, and poetry community webmaster, I know the pains and purgatory of poetry research. So many poetry sites these days result in dead links, pop-up prison, or supply only a chunk of the information you seek. Read on to learn how I made sense of the poetry research jungle.

As founder and creator of World of Poets dot com, I realized early on that my poets deserved the best possible poetry features. So, I created two poetry sites in one:

a. An Online Poetry Community—this is the section my poets can post their works, receive and submit reviews, qualify for contests, promote their own publications, chat, win awards, etc. It's a fun and lively bunch.

b. An Online Poetry Database—Links to over 1,300 poetry research resources. And every link—at publication—works!

This is where my methodologies may come into play for you. First, I decided on many different poetry categories. Second, I copied as many poetry links as possible. Third, I then clicked on each and every link—I think I ended up with over 5,000—to verify its web presence. Last, I identified the quality of the content, the presence or absence of pop-ups or ads, and then I chose the 1,300 or so best ones. This took me over two years to accomplish.

Here are the categories with a brief description of each:

1. Poetry Devices—I ended up finding about 80 different ones.

2. Poetry Forms—I am sure there are more, but I link to 78.

3. Poetry Articles—Talk about nearly impossible, but I managed to find 60 or so quality sources, and I am always looking for more.

4. History Of American Literature—From Colonial Times to Contemporary time, I managed to link to one place for everything.

5. Timeline Of English Literature—Not quite as in depth as the American Literature section, but it lists every major event.

6. History Of Poetry—Do you know how to spell Wikipedia?

7. Poetry Movements—Even to someone with my experience, I was surprised to find over 60! I think I got the complete history of them all.

8. Poetry Magazines, Ezines, Journals—I am sure there are many, many more, but with 370 WORKING links, I am proud of this section.

9. Poets Through History—Here is where I had to choose different poets to profile and to link for further research, I broke them down as follows:

a. Classic Poets—105 links to poems, history, and research.

b. Modern Poets—115 links to poems, history, and research.

c. Contemporary Poets—115 links to poems, history, and research.

d. World Poets—50 links to biographies. As many works not in English.

e. American Poet Laureates—Cool section profiling all the American Poets Laureates throughout its history.

10. Best American Poetry Series—With links to over 1,500 of the best American poems and their poets since 1988, this is a great resource.

11. Best Resources—50 of the internets BEST poetry research sites.

12. Tools of The Trade—120 links to categories I broke down as follows:

a. Copyrighting and Publishing—real publishers.

b. Libraries and Collections—incredible database within a database.

c. Bookstores and Booksellers—anyone of importance here.

d. General Reference—20 quality reference guides.

e. Rhyming Dictionaries and Thesauri—20 different ones!

f. Esteemed Contest Sites—literary contests, not scams and rip-offs.

g. Poetry Fun—20 fun places to discover poetry, many for children.

h. A World Of Dictionaries—20 different types of dictionaries.

i. Etymology and Origins—20 places for linguistic study.

j. A World Of Encyclopedias—20 different ones.

k. Quotable Quotes—if you need a quote, look no further.

I would like to remind you that finding links to poetry research is not that difficult. However, finding quality, content-driven, active links, without pop-ups and eternal link purgatory, is quite another story. I approximate that I sifted through over 5,000 links to get the 1,300 superior links I provide my members.

Bottom Line: Check out the World of Poets dot com Poetry Database, and you will never use another source for your poetry research, ever.

Valentine's Day is the time of year for lovers and romantics of all kinds to show that love and affection openly without ridicule. Each year we try to find the perfect gift that will show our affection.

Flowers are sometimes appreciated. Jewelry is sometimes cherished. Chocolates are becoming less appreciated, as we seem to be looking for healthier options.

But what could we give to our special someone that would be cherished? One that would increase with anticipation beyond Valentine's Day itself. One that would leave an everlasting impression on that special someone. And one that gives of our self (and also to our self).

That gift can only be a romantic cruise getaway! That's right. What could be more romantic than be lavished upon while vacationing on the open seas?

Elegant dining rooms with mouth-watering cuisine tempt your palette. Watching the sun set into the sea. Moonlit strolls on the decks. Dancing into the night. Watching the sunrise over the water.

Who wouldn't be impressed with such a gift? Besides all of the amenities on board ship, the exotic ports-of-call and the pampering service, we are also giving ourselves as we spend precious time with the ones we love.

Now I know that some of you are thinking that this would be a gift that only the most well-to-do could afford. But that is not the case! With published prices starting at about six hundred dollars for a week's vacationing, more can enjoy the pleasure. A four or five day cruise can be even less.

Even if these rates are a little steep, there is a sea option that can be equally as unforgettable. A dinner cruise can be as affordable as a night on the town and be definitely more memorable.

No matter what type of cruise you may choose, it's sure to be a hit this Valentines Day and one that will be long remembered.

Jewelry:The New Online Valentine

If you dislike competing against crowds of shoppers eager to prove their love, this Valentine's Day is for you. Taking a page from top couturiers like Bottega Veneta, who until recently shied away from selling their lines on the Web, some of the hippest jewelry designers are now making their baubles available to anyone with a computer.

Why it's taken designers this long to embrace the Web-jewelry is, after all, one of the most popular gifts for any occasion-has everything to do with consumers having reached "a comfort zone" when it comes to buying higher-end goods online, according to Milton Pedrasa, chief executive of the Luxury Institute. "There isn't that hesitation that used to exist a couple of years ago," he says.

Many of these designers work in Platinum, which is a popular choice with consumers because it lasts a lifetime and holds gemstones securely. One of the best examples of the trend is Manhattan designer Karen Karch. Known for having created the Platinum and ruby "Inner Circle" earrings that triggered all those memories in the Denzel Washington film "Déjà Vu," her easy-to-navigate Web site (KarenKarch.com) features sections like "Word of Mouth." It's a great way to search for jewelry worn by celebrities.

How hot are consumers to spend on wrist, neck and finger candy? A recent comScore survey found that online jewelry and watch spending increased by 24 percent around Valentine's Day in 2006.

And sites that have long sold jewelry have likewise responded to that demand. BlueN for example, lets you shop by specific categories and price points, while T offers a huge selection of Platinum necklaces, rings and bracelets, starting as low as $325.

If you're shopping for him, try visiting ChrisA It offers distinct Platinum cufflinks and watches. All the site's items are designed by Chris Aire, a nationally acclaimed designer whose clientele includes Muhammad Ali, Justin Timberlake and Jamie Foxx.

Whatever your choice, according to jewelry and style expert Michael O'Connor, "the most important piece of information to note when purchasing a gift online is to keep it personal and pick a design that reflects your significant other's personality."

"If they're down-to-earth," he adds, "stick to smaller, more versatile designs. If they're outgoing and fashion-forward, you can be a little more daring."

Of course, those who'd rather see the jewelry in person before buying can visit the "Find a Retailer" section found on and

Conversation Hearts - Let’s Talk

Posted by Izzy Roose | 10:26 PM | 0 comments »

Do you remember the excitement and anticipation that came with every Valentine's Day when we were kids? It became almost a competition to see which kid in your classroom managed to garner the most of the flimsy punch-out Valentine's cards with their even flimsier envelopes. In spite of the enthusiasm for the cards portraying the cultural icons of that particular year, the biggest attraction of the day was getting Conversation Hearts, the more the merrier. That's what Valentine's Day was and still is for most kids.

The idea of Conversation Hearts has been around since the late 1800s. The first "conversations" candies were not in the shape of a heart but rather shaped as sea shells. The text was printed on a foil wrapper and not on the actual candy.

The first Motto Candy was invented in 1900 but it still was not heart-shaped. For some strange reason, perhaps to allow for longer imprinted sayings, these Sweet Heart candies were in the shape of baseballs, horseshoes, postcards, and watches. With the passage of time, the sayings got shorter and shorter and were reduced to one or two lines of sentiment which fit perfectly on a heart-shaped candy.

In 1900, four candy companies merged together to become the New England Confectionary Company or NECCO. The candy companies NECCO, Brachs, and Jelly Belly are the three primary manufacturers of the Conversation Hearts in the early 21st century. No matter who makes this Valentine treat, about 8 billion hearts are produced each year. Even though the peak selling season is a mere 6 weeks, the confectionary companies produce the hearts for 11 months of the year. Gee, I wonder what kind of preservative is used to give them such a long shelf life. Maybe I don't want to know.

Conversation Hearts are made by man and machine working together. There are 7 major steps in creating these candies:

Step 1 - Combine sugar, corn syrup, cornstarch, flavors, gums, and colors into the mixing machine;

Step 2 - The machine mixes the ingredients together until they form a dough, much like the consistency of Play-Dough©;

Step 3 - The dough goes through a machine that presses the dough until it is flat;

Step 4 - The "conversation" words are applied to the dough and are then cut out of the dough in heart shapes. The candy drops onto a conveyor belt;

Step 5 - The hearts take a 30-minute ride through a drying tunnel;

Step 6 - The six different flavors are mixed together; and

Step 7 - the Conversation Hearts are bagged, boxed, and ready to eat.

In 2006, NECCO added a preposition and conjunction to its mix of sayings so that sweet sentiments might be spelled out more grammatically. NECCO has attempted, over the years, to include sentiments inline with the current culture. The candies come in 2 sizes - small and large. The small heart has room for approximately two words of four letters each while the larger hearts can contain two words of five letters each.

Whatever their size or sayings, Conversation Hearts are and will be timeless.

Why Every Day Should Be Valentine's Day!

Posted by Izzy Roose | 2:26 PM | 0 comments »

Why every day should be Valentine's Day! Because it is love that makes the world go round not money! You are here today because of love and not money! Think for a moment, take away love and you will find the world will be an empty shell lacking meaning and passion! The world has suffered great destruction because of power, ignorance and greed, and the antidote is love and wisdom!

What love means to you? Love means different things to different people but there are a lot of things about love that people can agree.

I've written a love poem over 20 years ago and I will like to share with everyone on this Valentine's Day, please feel free to share it with your loved ones and friends. I have composed it into a song, anyone out there who is a musician and want to partner with me to promote this song? It could hit the charts and inspire millions of people!

LOVE

Love is happiness in being together. Love is wanting to share. Love is accepting each other. Love is thinking of you no matter where.

Loving is giving and receiving. Loving is trusting and believing. Loving is forgiving and rewarding. Loving is feeling and caring.

Love countless ways like millions of pebbles on the shore. Love is beautiful like stars in the skies. Love is all these to me and more. Love you can see in my eyes.

Hope you enjoy this poem and share it with your loved ones and take time to express your love and say those three important words: "I love you"

When was the last time you told your loved ones, "I love you" and when was the last time you gave them a good loving hug? We tend to love too little and too late, the time to love is now!

I've travelled a lot and I realised that people are basically the same, they all want happiness and they all want to be loved! There are many ways you can show your love, a kind word, a warm smile and a helping hand.

We should also learn how to live in peace and love our fellowmen. Wars are shameful failures of leaders who are not able to lead their people to peaceful settlements and hundreds of billions of dollars are wasted on bombs and weapons when these billions of dollars could be used to help to feed the hungry and poor, and save innocent children from the horrors of child labour and child prostitution!

Where's the love? How can we let innocent children die of hunger and being abused and suffering the horrors of child prostitution! Are the world leaders blind? If we can spend hundreds of billions of dollars on wars why can't we spare a few billions of dollars to stop such atrocities and horrific suffering of innocent children?

Can we show our love by doing a bit for these children? Key in "child prostitution" and you will find lots of websites of organisations who are doing something about it even though some world leaders are acting blind or playing dumb about it! Can the billionaires show their love too by helping these children? We all can help in our own little ways because I believe the power of love will see us through!

Soldiers are precious to their grandfathers, grandmothers, mothers, fathers, wives, children, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends - just imagine the trauma, suffering and sadness wars have caused to millions of people!

The haunting song, "Where have all the flower gone" and this song is probably written for the world leaders, "Where have all the soldiers gone? Long time passing, Where have all the soldiers gone? Long time ago, Where have all the soldiers gone? Gone to graveyards everyone, O, when will they ever learn, O, when will they ever learn?"

We should also extend our love to the animals, plants and the earth. I've written a song in 1999 for the millennium and the title of the song is "It's Time We Build and Care"

When will we learn that life is precious. And this earth is all we have. And the killings we must stop soon. It's time we build and care.

Chorus: Mother Nature is giving her warnings. And she hopes we understand. Before it's too late to stop the dying. Of this earth we all share.

The air and water is getting bad. The bombs and pollution is making it worse. There is too much destruction and suffering. It's time we build and care.

Every day should be Valentine's Day and we must express our love daily in many ways because what the world needs now is love sweet love!

What can be more romantic than sending a handwritten love letter to your loved one, full of romantic words and genuine feelings you have for him/her? Love letters are one of the best ways to show your special loved ones how you feel for them and how much you love them.

A heartfelt love letter also makes the perfect gift for Valentine's Day, but you don't have to just limit yourself to that specific day. Every day is a great opportunity to make your loved one happy by sharing your deepest feelings with him/her.

The great thing about love letters is that you don't have to be a poet or a skilled "writer" to be able to write them. Everyone - and I really mean "everyone" - can do it.

Because they are just about putting your romantic feelings into words genuinely - even in very simple words. This openness is what makes love letters special.

To write a more romantic and heart warming letter, here are some questions that will give you good ideas to write about:

Idea #1:

What was the first time you felt you were in love with him/her? Did anything special happen that made you realize your love?

You can describe in clear details how it happened and how you felt and it will mean the world to your loved one. I promise. :-)

Idea #2:

What is the #1 thing he/she has that makes you feel so much in love with him/her whenever you think about it? It could be about looks or about personality.

For example you may say "the way her face shines when she smiles", or "the way his eyes always bring peace and love to me when I look into them."

Idea #3:

What positive changes have you made since he/she has entered your life? What valuable lessons have you learned from him/her?

For example it could be that before you met him/her, you were pretty shy and didn't fully believe in yourself and your unique abilities, but he/she helped you love yourself more and be proud of who you are.

When your loved one reads this, she will practically feel on clouds because he/she sees what a big difference he/she had made in your life.

Idea #4:

It's also a good idea to include a heartfelt romantic love poem at the end or the beginning of your letter. Sometimes nothing can show how we feel better and deeper than a good poem.

Idea #5:

And as the last tip: Don't forget to say "I Love You" at the end of your letter. This simple yet effective sentence will really seal the deal in your loved one's mind.

Wish you a wonderful life full of love,

You try to ignore it but it's impossible to escape from. The gift shops are full of heart shaped cards and teddy bears, the travel agents have "romantic weekend trips to Paris" advertised, your attached friends topic of conversation is "will he propose?" and all you can think is where the hell are you going to find a man in time for Valentine's Day. Yes, it's the season of romance; the time of year all singletons fear more than walking into a bar with their skirt accidentally tucked into their pants following a visit to the toilet!

If you can identify with these thoughts, don't despair. Whilst it may be difficult for you to get a marriage proposal in such a short space of time, you may be able to get a date in time for Valentine's Day. Here's a few places for you to try and if you've tried them before try them again; men will be on the lookout at this time of year too so don't be afraid to make yourself available:-

1. Take a good look around at work. Ok, so you've worked there for years and none of the single guys have appealed to you before but in desperate times its good to take a second look. Is the guy in accounts really so dull? Maybe he is ultra cool out of work and will have you giggling all night if you give him a chance.

2. Work off those extra pounds piled on at Christmas at the gym and eye up those hunky bodies. Start by taking in the view on the treadmill and then once you've spotted someone you like, ease your way over and ask if he would mind showing you how to use one of the exercise machines in exchange for an après-gym beverage.

3. If you don't have a dog, borrow one and take it for a long walk. You'll be amazed at the amount of guys walking their dogs who will say "hello" to a fellow dog walker.

4. Ask your attached friends to find out if any their boyfriend's friends have recently become single and get them to arrange a casual get-together to introduce you.

5. Last but not least, join an online dating site and message every half-decent man available. By the time Valentine's Day arrives, you'll be inundated with offers and will have to donate the surplus bouquets of red roses to your local hospice because you've run out of vases!

Try one, if not all, of the above, and there's a very good chance you won't be spending Valentine's Day alone!

While we would all like to whisk our partner away to celebrate St Valentine's Day at an exotic five star resort, I know I can't afford it, just yet!

Here are some ideas for Valentine's Day luxuries on a budget that will amaze your partner. And if you do it just right, with a little creativity, you can have the ultra-romantic day that will convince your loved one of how much you love him or her. Again.

Getting out into the open air, just the two of you, is a great way to spend Valentines. Head for the hills or the state park. There are walks to suit all - whether its an easy walk or a more demanding hike. Remember, it's February, so its likely that the place will be deserted and you will have all that natural beauty to yourself. And outdoor privacy is so romantic!

Take along a special picnic when you go out. In a small picnic basket collect a tablecloth, a vase with a realistic rose in it, 2 taper candles with holders (don't forget a lighter) and a lovely meal for two. When you reach the picnic area you can surprise your partner by setting the table for a romantic meal. Sit down and enjoy!

You could take the picnic with you on a romantic drive, or for a day out kite flying or bicycling. Remember that it's being together that is important.

The outdoors idea even works for couples that have children. There's always plenty for the kids to do if there is a safe and empty playground close by. What better way to celebrate your love than by keeping one eye on the children and reminding yourself why you love them, and their other parent, so much.

Don't fancy the great, romantic, outdoors? Cooking your romantic Valentine's meal together is a great way to share the day. Male sure that your dinner choice is something you will both enjoy, even better if its a special treat you don't often have. Go over the top in decorating the dining room and go to town on the place settings. Make sure you both dress up in your best clothes, as if it was your first date, with your best jewelry and scent.

The main thing to remember is that if you are together you will have as romantic a time as you would have at a posh resort or an exclusive restaurant. It's the thought that counts, not how much money you spend.

It's Valentine's Day—and you're looking to make this one special for your wife or girlfriend. Valentine's Day is often not a difficult holiday for guys. Most women love chocolates, flowers, and dinner at a nice restaurant. But if you want to spice things up a bit, read on. There are plenty of ways to get creative and original with your Valentine's Day plans—and surprise her with something she's not expecting. Here are ten tips for making this Valentine's Day one she'll never forget.

Name a star. What's more romantic than naming a star after your beloved? Most star-naming companies will give you a beautiful naming certificate, a constellation chart showing the location of your star, and other extras all contained in a beautiful presentation box. This is a highly romantic gift that's sure to bring a smile to her face.

A romantic picnic. Why not put a spin on your typical romantic dinner with an adventurous picnic? Meet her at work and whisk her away to a secluded, romantic spot with a bottle of champagne and some gourmet take-out from a local restaurant. Light some candles and have a picnic in the living room—complete with soft music and romantic ambience. She'll love the spontaneous feel of this dinner date.

Take her shopping. If she loves to shop, she'll appreciate this thoughtful gift. Take her on a shopping spree at her favorite store. Spend time shopping with her, and be engaged. Suggest clothes for her to try, make suggestions for stores, and be sure to shower her with complements whenever she tries something flattering on! If you really want to make her happy, hire a personal shopper to take her out for a day. She's sure to feel more than a little spoiled.

Give a spa gift. If the woman in your life is overstressed and under-pampered, she's probably overdue for a day at the spa. Why not get her a gift certificate for the full treatment at a local health spa? Get her a full massage, mud bath, skin treatments, anything you'd think she would appreciate. She's sure to feel pampered and loved with a gift like this.

Adopt an animal. We're not suggesting you bring home a puppy or kitten—although that might be a good idea too. If your wife or girlfriend is an animal lover, why not "adopt" an endangered animal in her name? Some animal refuges allow people to donate money to support a specific animal, providing for its care and feeding for a certain amount of time. When you adopt an animal, you'll get a picture of the animal, updates on its health and status, and even a framed adoption certificate. Definitely a great gift for a woman who loves animals.

Bedroom board games. If you're often both too tired to do more than sleep in the bedroom lately, she might appreciate a little night-time attention on Valentine's Day. Why not make things a little more interesting? Pick up an adult board game like Monogamy, a sexy game that opens with some intriguing conversation starters, and then advances the intimacy until you can't help but get close. It's just the thing to liven it up in the bedroom—and give her a memorable Valentine's Day treat.

Jewelry. Yes, we know diamonds are a traditional Valentine's Day jewelry gift. And most women love diamonds, so it's a relatively safe gift. But why not get a little creative with your jewelry choice this year?

This type of gift requires some consideration—you'll have to pay attention to the type of jewelry she loves. Look at what she wears. Some women only wear gold or silver, and some like large, bold pieces while others like a more delicate or antique look. Once you've got her style down, pick a stone that she'll love—many women have a special place in their hearts for opals, emeralds, or amethysts. This is sure to show you know her tastes—and she'll definitely feel loved.

Dance lessons. Why not take her out for a night of dancing? Women love men who are willing to get out on the dance floor as well. Book salsa lessons, tango lessons, or ballroom dancing together. She'll love the romantic ambience, and you're sure to get ample opportunities to show off your moves—both on the dance floor and off.

Marketers traditionally emblazon everything from underwear to shot glasses with red hearts to sell them on Valentine's Day. But that doesn't mean everything with a heart on it is a good gift for the occasion. Put some thought and planning into your next Valentine's Day gift, and don't be afraid to get creative. She's sure to remember it as the best Valentine's Day she's ever had.

Relationship Advice for Valentines Day

Posted by Izzy Roose | 2:26 PM | 0 comments »

Valentines Day is again once upon us. Many of us have already made plans to spend a romantic evening with our significant other. If you haven't already made plans, you still have time. Many couples traditionally make plans to go out for a romantic dinner for two, maybe see a movie afterwards. Many choose to stay in the comfort of their own home and spend the night by a crackling fire. Whatever you decide, make sure it's genuine, romantic, and from the heart.

Women love it when their man takes the time to plan something special for them, especially on Valentines Day. Be sure to tell the special woman in your life, how much you love her. It's ok to drop the macho act this one particular day out of the year. Pour your soul out to her. Let her know how special she really is to you. How much she means to you, and how lucky you are to have her in your life. Let her know how much of a better man you have become since the two of you have been together.

After you have completely melted her heart with the release of your feelings, it will be time to wine and dine her. Don't be a tightwad this year, and spend the money on this special occasion. Take her to her favorite restaurant, or cook her favorite meal. Take her to see the chick flick you know she's been dying to see. Take her shopping at her favorite store. Good lord man, pamper this woman like there is no tomorrow. If you do all of this and can go all night without saying something stupid, then the dividends of your efforts should pay out for months!

Now some free advice for you women. First off, be ready to go at a descent time. Be prepared and start getting ready about one hour before you normally do when you go out. This should ensure that you leave the house on time. This way your man will not be so anxious, and be tempted to say something stupid causing you to snap at him. This is a bad way to start off this special evening. Remember, it's better to be lovers than to be fighters.

Make sure that your extra sexy for him this evening. Trust me. Your man loves it when you are exceptionally beautiful and confident with him in public. Make sure you maintain both physical and eye contact throughout dinner. Rub his hands from across the table, or if you are setting next to him, rub his thigh to let him know you appreciate the effort he has put forward for you this special day of love.

Let your man know how much you appreciate him. Let him know how thankful you are to have such a real man in your life. Let him know how safe and secure you feel with him. When you get home after a romantic night out on the town, let him know that you had a wonderful time and offer him a backrub for his efforts. He will be putty in your hands after this. Now it's time to put on that sexy little outfit you bought just for him.

Well I think we all know where these special romantic evening end up from here, provided all went well and we as men were fortunate enough not to say any thing too stupid throughout the evening. I think if we both as partners follow these basic outlines of mutual respect, love, and appreciation, will come to appreciate the fact that we truly are lucky to have such a wonderful person in our lives with whom we can share our secrets and our passions with.

Gifts are a medium to express love and emotion towards another person. It is usually presented to people who are very close. Presenting gifts has now become a very common affair, whereas initially it was just restricted to occasions like, marriages, birthdays, Christmas, New Year etc. Today with the growth of society and with growing relationships, the frequency of presenting gifts to near and dear ones has multiplied several times.

A lot of things need to be considered while gifting somebody. Topping the list is the relationship you share with the person. Secondly, the occasion needs to be taken care of and finally, fixing of your budget is necessary.

Marriage Gifts:

Marriage is a very special occasion in a person's life, and to make this day a memorable one, unique and special gifts are presented to the newly wed couple by their near and dear ones. Depending on your relationship and of course your budget, you can choose from a special honeymoon package to a remote island, to gold and diamond jewellery to present to the couple. If a honeymoon package does not suit your budget you can also arrange for a cozy dinner for the twosome in a good restaurant, which they can enjoy and make it memorable. Presenting them with a surprise gift while they are dining will be an added treat. Presenting household items to the newly wed is also a good and useful idea, if they are moving into a new home after marriage.

You could also chose from cosmetics, stuffed toys, dresses or a good ladies perfume, which she will surely like. While choosing a present for him, the best options include the eternal, perfumes, shirts, office stationeries like organizers or a good branded pen.
